Sock Burning Ceremony

American sailors in the Port of Annapolis burn socks to mark the begining of the Spring.











The sock burning ceremony was first started by Bob Turner in 1980.  Hundreds of people torch their socks, drink wine and look forward to work on boat decks without using socks.
