Raisin Monday : The Foam Fight of St. Andrews University

St Andrews University of Scotland gives an unusual welcome to the freshers. The Raisin Monday is the University's old and traditional celebaration that dates back to 15th century. New students are rqeuired to show their gratitude by giving 0.45kg of raisins in exchange for a receipt written in Latin. If a new student fails to produce the receipt, he/she could be doused in the local fountain. However, nowadays the tradition has changed. The raisins have been replaced with a bottle of wine, while dousing in the fountain has been replaced with foam.
