The Oldest Artificial Christmas Tree

For the Parker family, the Christmas means to carry on the old family tradition of using the artificial Christmas tree that was bought by great grandmother Lou Hicks in 1886.  The tree cost just six pence but it was valued at $1,500 at the Antiques Road Show by the experts in 2005.

The tree is made of green raffia and the base features the Virgin Mary and Jesus. The Guinness World Record has also confirmed as the oldest artificial Christmas tree in the World.  The current owner, Paul Parker, will display the tree above the fireplace for this year's Christmas as a way to continue his family's century old tradition.
