Akram Zaatari's Intimate Photoseries

Akram Zaatari's incredible intimate photoseries depicting Arabic couples of same-sex kissing each other exhibits a culture that draws a line between public and private life. Public interaction between man and woman is considered taboo in Arabic world if they weren't married.

Zaatari found photographs from North farica, Middle East and Arabic communities and all these  images were taken between 1950 - 70. Akram Zaatari is the founder of the Arab Image Foundation.

Zaatari's photographs are being displayed at the Liverpool Bienniel.
