Japan's Silkworm Chocolates

Tomoika Silk Mill's cute worm-shaped chocolate is the sweetest way to celebrate the recognition of Japan's oldest silk factory as World Heritage site by UNESCO in June, 2014, making the historic building the 18th heritage site in the country, if recognised.

The unique tasty chocolate is made in the shape of a white silkworm sitting on a leaf. The leaf is made from powdered mulberry leaves, which gives a green-tea like flavour. The white worm is actually made of small berry bits and rice puffs, making it crunchy.

A box of silkworm chocolates costs about $12.70.
