A Protestant Church Hesse and Nasau in Wittenberg, Germany, installed a humanistic robot capable of offering blessings to the public. The BlessU-2 is a part of an exhibition celebrating the anniversary of reformation in 1517.
The robotic priest interacts with the church goers through a display screen, allowing people to choose a language, choose a male or female voice and a choice of blessing of encouraging or renewal style encounter.
The innovative religious humanoid is designed and engineered by Alexander Wiedekind-Klein and intends to combine religion and artificial intelligence to spread the knowledge of theological understanding of blessings. (via)
