Barcelona’s El Liceu Opera house reopens only for plants.
The ongoing pandemic has given a lesson to mankind the importance of preserving and connecting to nature. El Liceu opera house has done something very special to build a greater connection and appreciate nature.
The Concert for the Biocene is a collaborative initiative between El Liceu together with Max Estrella Gallery and curator Blanca de la Torre. The concert was inspired by Spanish conceptual artist Eugenio Ampudia and his time spent in the quarantine when he realized the need to relate closely with nature.
The concert was performed in front of 2,292 potted plants and performed ‘Cristanemi’ by Puccini and the experience was described as a visual poem.
Later the plants were delivered to health professionals accompanied by a certificate from the artist. (via)
