Grace humanoid nurse is dedicated to caring for patients and the elderly.
“Grace” is a human-like nurse bot by Hanson Robotics that specializes in senior care.
According to CNN, Hanson Robotics, the creator of Sophia the Robot, plans to mass-produce thousands of humanoids by the end of 2021 and they will be devoted to taking care of the sick and elderly.
Grace is developed with the help of Singularity Studio, an artificial intelligence solution company, and aims to be a nursing assistant with a built-in thermal sensor and camera capable of reading the patient’s body temperature and pulse.
The data collected by the robot may be used to help medical experts diagnose diseases and recommend remedies and treatments.
Grace is a social robot capable of communicating in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
The humanoid nurse is outfitted with a unique nanotech skin known as ‘Frubber,’ which allows the robot to accurately imitate human expressions.
Although Grace does not intend to replace basic frontline workers, the robot may collect valuable data and make the work of nurses and doctors simpler and easier. (Via: awakening health, design taxi, hack day)
