LEGO BMW Isetta Car Model
Jimmi Jakobsen used Lego bricks to recreate the iconic Isetta car.
Jimmi Jakobsen proposed his own BMW Isetta model proposal on the LEGO Ideas platform.
The bubble car's unique form, with only one door in the front and a relatively narrow gap between the rear wheels, is highly appealing. The BMW Isetta is a coveted classic car, known as a bubble car because of its egg-shaped and bubble-shaped windows. Isetta was built with tremendous success from 1955 to 1962 and saved BMW when the business was on the edge of bankruptcy in the 1950s.
The designer recreated this popular model using building blocks to form an open door with a steering wheel, allowing the steering wheel to swing outward with the door, just like the real one. If the proposal receives 10,000 votes, it will be considered for production.
Lego Ideas is a website that allows users to submit ideas for Lego products and then convert them into potential commercial sets. Ideas are kept on the website for up to two years before being removed if the idea does not receive the requisite 10,000 votes.
