Modified Traditional Cup
The Hug Cup is a modified version of traditional tableware
The Hug is a unique modification of traditional ceramic tableware. It uses a central grip loop instead of the usual side handle as the internal handle, which is suitable for people suffering from joint discomfort or osteoarthritis.
Designer and ceramic artist Eszter Imre made a twist of the standard ceramic cup, casting a center finger tunnel, making holding the Hug feel like you are embracing warm tea.
The design concept stems from attaching human ties to everyday things such as cups. Furthermore, the inverted handle helps the user to grasp the mug securely while experiencing the warmth of the drink. The user’s thumb may be slipped through the specified grip loop without burning his or her hand. (Via)
