A virtual real estate on the metaverse sells for a whopping $2.4 million.
Decentraland recently sold virtual real estate to Metaverse Group for a stunning $2.4 million in cryptocurrency, making it the most expensive purchase of a block of a virtual plot on the platform.
Decentraland, also known as the metaverse, offers land and other products in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which can be acquired with the platform's cryptocurrency, MANA. Users of the site may also go for a stroll and digitally communicate with others.
The virtual plot is in the "Fashion Street" region of Decentraland's map and would be utilized by the purchaser to organize digital fashion events and sell virtual apparel for avatars. It is made up of 116 smaller parcels, each averaging 52.5 square feet, giving the property a total area of 6,090 virtual square feet.
According to data from Coinbase, MANA has risen about 400% this month and soared after Facebook changed its name. (Via)
