the Z-Triton 2.0 is a sustainable amphibious mobile home ready for the road and water.
For years, Aigars has been obsessed with the idea of building the perfect amphibious vehicle. Designed to be Aigars’ transport, the Z-Triton 2.0 is the culmination of years of refinement, testing, and building. Featuring a new, production-ready design, the Z-Triton 2.0 is ready for the road – or the sea.
Adventure cyclist and designer Aigars Lauris of Latvia spent years perfecting his Z-Triton amphibious vehicle, a concept that combined his love of the open road with his obsession with building the perfect vehicle.
The Z-Triton 2.0 is a refined version of the Z-Triton prototype released in 2020. Constructed entirely of carbon fiber, the Z-Triton 2.0 is a sleek, low-profile vehicle with the strength and durability of a hard shell.
The Z-Triton 2.0 features an all-new, production-ready design, making it ready for the road or the sea. Aigars has successfully tested his amphibious vehicle in the Swiss Alps, Paris, Lake Geneva, Amsterdam, and Berlin, demonstrating that the amphibious vehicle is ready for the road ahead.
In comparison to the prototype, the Z-Triton 2.0 is now more spacious, with the use of a fiberglass body and steel frames holding the entire contraption together.
The Z-Triton 2.0 is powered by an electric battery, allowing it to run on the road or the sea. The Z-Triton 2.0 features solar panels on its roof to take care of the power needs. The capacity of the battery is unknown, but it is believed to provide 31 miles of range in bike mode and 12 miles on the water.
Due to the use of carbon fiber, the Z-Triton 2.0 weighs in at a staggering 200kg, making it one of the heaviest amphibious vehicles on the market.
The folding bike wheels allow the vehicle to shift from land to water mode in just under five minutes, adding a layer of stability and making the vehicle easier to control. When the wheels are folded, the Z-Triton 2.0’s electric boat motor is lowered from the cabin, making it easier to navigate.
The amphibious mobile home is equipped with several practical features, such as storage for luggage, USB charging ports, and a Bluetooth radio system. The Z-Triton 2.0 is also outfitted with a GPS, making it easy for drivers to navigate to their next destination.
The production version of the Z-Triton 2.0 will be available for pre-order in the US in 2023, with deliveries to Europe scheduled to begin in the second half of 2022.
At €14,500, the Z-Triton 2.0 is likely to be one of the most affordable amphibious vehicles available on the market.
