Playable Saw Blade Record
Playable Saw Blade is not meant to be used as a real saw blade.
The Weeknd, a Canadian artist, has teamed with the New York-based art collective MSCHF to develop a playable vinyl saw blade to promote his current track 'Out of Time.'
The Vinyl Blade comes in a brilliant red with black accents and other visuals that are close to the actual blade. The piece is set on a saw plate and has an adapter that is suitable for most turntable designs.
The playable item has razor-sharp edges, a non-standard diameter, and is heavier than ordinary vinyl.
Unfortunately, some record players may be unable to handle the item because the copper-clad steel groves may wear out the turntable's stylus; hence, a playback speed of 33 RPM is suggested.
The Vinyl Blade was made in a limited edition of 25 pieces and was sold via blind auction for a minimum $1,000 bid. (Via)
